“Bright, colourful, and effervescent- Xsara is a musician renowned for her dazzling live performance. With a style that incorporates blues, cabaret, jazz and pop; this is a show woman with the full package- a striking look, incredible songs and one helluva voice. Her inspiration from enigmatic performers such as Kate Bush, Tori Amos and Janis Joplin shines through- they are all strong, forthright females who refuse to compromise on their creative identity- and neither does Xsara. Having been tipped for big things by BBC Introducing, Q Magazine and most importantly- us- we highly recommend this show if you need a night with a bit of sparkle.” ~Emerging Icons

“Dove’s voice soars across vocal ranges, sidling into every nook and cranny of the emotion crystallised within the lyrics…Irresistible rhythms, crisp song endings ,the texture of the sliding guitar notes crashing Hammond chords all meld into images of the speakeasy with its heat and smoke ,the smoothness of bourbon, the counterbalance of Delta sin and religion.” ~The LP Project

If…

“If a person bought me a sack of trolls and flew me to the universe in their giant carrot space ship that blew out glitter instead of smoke. If they chucked rose petals into the air instead of conflict and drank magic wine so we could build a pumpkin boat so that we could overlook the beautiful sunset while riding upon the waves of treacle and maple syrup. Maybe, then just maybe…maybe I would have found my soulmate.”- ~ Me

Roadkill and ethics.

Had a drive in the countryside, I had to sort out another roadkill that had been left in the middle of the road by a human. She was a lady duck who unfortunately got hit. I picked her up and put her under a pine tree with flowers and said a blessing. I will always pick up after people’s roadkill, I will never drive on, as every living creature deserves more respect than to be just left on the road in such a dismissive manner. How can people be ok with leaving it in the road to be flattened? Why is it immoral if it’s a human, or upsetting if it’s your dog but acceptable if it’s another animal? Life is life, the essence of a soul is the same regardless of what form, body or physical vessel it arrives in this world. Please all carry plastic bags, gloves and a shovel in your boot/trunk, please have compassion and do your bit. Until then I will keep picking up roadkill after others and make sure these creatures regain some dignity in their passing.
